Direct Marketing Policy
Appropriate, accurate, targeted and non-intrusive journal communication
AJIST may undertake direct marketing activities to communicate legitimate journal information or invite manuscript submissions from researchers whose work is relevant to the journal's Aims and Scope. Such activities are intended to be appropriate, targeted, accurate, and non-intrusive.
1. Scope of Direct Marketing
Direct marketing may include calls for papers, special-issue announcements, journal updates, invitations to submit manuscripts, and other communications about AJIST publishing activities.
2. Accuracy and Transparency
Marketing communications must accurately describe AJIST, its publisher, Aims and Scope, peer-review model, publication schedule, access model, fees, policies, and current abstracting or indexing status. AJIST will not make misleading, exaggerated, or unverifiable claims about the journal or its services.
3. No Guarantees or Improper Claims
AJIST will not use direct marketing to guarantee manuscript acceptance, favourable peer review, unusually rapid publication, citation impact, future indexing, or any other outcome that is subject to independent editorial assessment or external evaluation.
4. Targeting and Frequency
AJIST directs communications to researchers or professional audiences for whom the journal's subject coverage is reasonably relevant. Marketing is proportionate and is not repetitive, intrusive, or designed to pressure recipients into submitting manuscripts or purchasing services.
5. Editorial Independence
Direct marketing activities are kept separate from editorial decision-making. Whether an author received, responded to, or did not respond to a marketing communication has no influence on editorial assessment, peer review, acceptance, rejection, or publication.
6. Use of Contact Information
AJIST handles contact information used for journal communications in accordance with its Privacy Policy and uses it only for legitimate journal and publishing purposes. Recipients may contact the publisher regarding inappropriate or unwanted communications.

Opt-Out and Complaints
Recipients may request that AJIST stop sending non-essential direct marketing communications to them. Requests or complaints concerning journal marketing may be sent to the editorial office. Operational messages relating to an active submission, review, editorial appointment, payment, or publication are not treated as marketing communications.
