Article Processing Charges & Waivers

The AJIST Article Processing Charges page explains the publication fee, waiver and discount arrangements for the Asian Journal of Information Science and Technology (AJIST). AJIST follows a Gold Open Access publishing model. Author fees support publishing activities such as editorial administration, production, hosting, archiving, preservation, and dissemination. Fee or waiver status does not influence editorial assessment, peer review, or manuscript acceptance.

1. Current AJIST Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • Authors based in India: INR 3,000.
  • Authors based outside India: USD 50.
  • Manuscript submission fee: Nil.

The APC applies only after a manuscript has been accepted following editorial assessment and peer review. Authors are not charged an APC for rejected manuscripts.

2. When the APC Is Charged

The AJIST publication fee becomes payable only after acceptance. Payment does not guarantee acceptance, faster peer review, favourable editorial treatment, indexing, citation performance, or publication outside normal editorial and production procedures. Authors should not make a payment before receiving an official acceptance communication and APC request.

3. Waivers and Discounts

AJIST provides a 50% APC discount for corresponding authors from Research4Life Group A countries, subject to the Research4Life eligibility classification applicable at the time of submission. The discount is based on the corresponding author’s country information. Any other exceptional waiver or discount offered by CRI must be confirmed in writing before payment and is handled separately from editorial decision-making.

4. Requesting a Waiver or Discount

Authors seeking an applicable waiver or discount should make the request before APC payment and provide information reasonably required by the publishing office. Requests for fee support are administered independently of editorial assessment and peer review.

5. Refund of Article Processing Charges

An APC refund may be considered when a publisher-attributable error prevents publication of an accepted manuscript or when duplicate APC payments are made for the same manuscript. Refunds are normally not issued when an author withdraws after APC payment and publication processing has begun, or when a published article is retracted because of plagiarism, copyright infringement, fabrication, falsification, research misconduct, or another author-related breach of publication ethics.

6. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and remain independent of APC payment, waiver or discount status, sponsorship, advertising, ownership interests, or other revenue considerations. See the Revenue Sources Statement for the journal’s wider business-model disclosure.

7. Open Access and Licence

Published articles are made immediately and permanently available online under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence. Additional copyright, licensing, and repository terms are explained in the Copyright & Licensing Policy and Open Access Policy.

8. Before Payment

Authors should verify the current APC on this page, confirm any approved discount or waiver in writing, and ensure that the payment request corresponds to an officially accepted AJIST manuscript. Submission instructions are available on the Submit Manuscript page.
